VMWAre Preventing the Clock from Running Too Quickly

For VMWare 1.0.x 1. Install vmware-tools on virtual host:
1.1 In VMWare console:

select menu VM->Install VMWare Tools (virtual computer have to be switched on)
1.2 Mount virtual CD-ROM
#mount /dev/cdrom /mnt #cp /mnt/VMwareTools-1.0.9-156507.i386.rpm /root #rpm -ivh /root/VMwareTools-1.0.9-156507.i386.rpm
#umount /dev/cdrom
1.3 After package installation
#vmware-config-tools.pl
The tools tried to compile the necessary drivers. You have to have the headers of running kernel available. The operation must completed successfully.
(Installation of kernel headers:#yum install kernel-devel) Check if vmware-tools running:
# /etc/init.d/vmware-tools status vmware-guestd is running
2. Stop virtual machine and set up time synchronization #init 0
On the host server make the following changes in virtual machine configuration file:
#cd /vms/linux-vm - place where VM files stored
#vi v-linux.vmx Change line tools.syncTime = "FALSE" to tools.syncTime = "TRUE". If line tools.syncTime is absent we have to add it...
